Meet School Psychologist Kelsey Koch!
Kelsey, a Sauk Prairie alum, has a Bachelors in Special Education (Cross Categorical) from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and an Education Specialist in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. She is excited to be working back in her hometown at a school that helped prepare her for the next stage of life!
Kelsey and her husband, Kyle, have a daughter (Blake) and a son (Briggs). The family also has a Siberian husky (Brutus). She enjoys going on walks, being outside, watching movies and spending time with family.

Originally from Black Earth, Bethany is a first generation college student. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Composition and a Master of Science Education from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
Bethany enjoys running, reading, geocaching and traveling. Of course, she also loves time with her three dachshunds, Charlie, Elvis and Ruby. She just finished reading the book Remarkably Bright Creatures.

Visiting artist Jennifer Bastian shared her work and her process with our high school art classes. Students then practiced writing an artistic summary.
Bastian's art, which focuses on grief, love, self discovery, and ritual, is on display at the River Arts Center. Only two more opportunities to view the show. Today from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and during the Chicken Wire Empire show on Saturday night (6:00 p.m.).

Katie's hometown is Poplar Grove, IL. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Colgate University (Hamilton, NY) and Masters in Geology from the University of Florida.
Katie enjoys the outdoors and loves to run, play or watch all sports, look for rocks, and craft. She and her husband Jason enjoy hiking with their dog Rooney.
Katie is grateful to her book club for the encouragement to read books she may not have chosen for herself. She recently enjoyed Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
Katie has been inspired by a number of amazing educators, both in and out of the classroom, which led her to become an educator.

Thank you to members of the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) Chapter 221 for making history personal for high School students in United States history class.
As part of their study of the Vietnam War, students had a powerful and memorable question and answer session with veterans who shared their experience. The students came prepared with thoughtful, student-created questions, leading to meaningful conversations throughout the day. Madison College staff visited Sauk Prairie High School to work with graduating seniors as they finalize details to begin their post-secondary education at MATC in the fall.

From the first meet in January to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech & Dramatic Arts Association (WISDAA) State Speech and Debate Festival in April, our High School Forensics team has made us Sauk Prairie Proud!
At the State Festival in Madison, our Forensics team members brought home 15 gold medals, six silver medals and one bronze. Sebastien Friou was a honored as a four year state gold medalist!
The overall sucess of our team members at the State Festival earned our Forensics team the WISDAA Excellence in Speech Honor. For this honor, adjudicators rated each student or performing group to determine a medal award, and the top five percent of medal-earning schools were recognized with Excellence in Speech Awards. Sauk Prairie was one of fourteen schools to earn this honor.
Congratulations to our High School students who qualified for the Wiscconsin State Music Association's State Solo and Ensemble Festival. The following students competed in WMSA state festival last week: Kai Binkowski, Aaron Clement (2 events), Ariana Dominguez, Simon Green, Reese Grinstead, Sean Jager, Ava John (4 events), Micael Louis, Logan Meier (2 events), Gavin Krueger (2 events), Sam Roberts (4 events), Elliott Steiner, Susanna Van Laggren, Paolo Yanke and Lydia Zajicek.
Gavin Krueger and Ava John were selected as 2025 WSMA Exemplary Performers at the state festival! Gavin, a sophomore, was recognized for his Musical Theater Solo performance of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (Les Miserables). Ava, a senior, received the honor for her French Horn Solo of Sonata for Horn & Piano (Samuel Adler). Congratulations on this prestigious recognition!
